A gentle Japanese harmonizing art using light, still finger-holds on specific points to balance the flow of energy through the body and settle the nervous system.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a centuries-old Japanese art of harmonizing the body's energy through light touch. A session involves holding specific combinations of points on the body — often at the fingers, wrists, or along the torso — with gentle, sustained pressure, sometimes for several minutes at a time. The holds follow set sequences designed to address particular patterns of tension, fatigue, or imbalance.
There's no manipulation of muscle or joint, and very little movement during a session. The work is quiet and unhurried, and many people find it settles the body in a way that's hard to describe until they've experienced it.
You'll stay fully clothed, lying comfortably on the table. I'll hold specific points — often in combinations at the hands, feet, and along the torso — for several minutes at a time, moving through a sequence based on what your body seems to need that day. The pressure is still and light throughout. Many people notice a pulse or subtle warmth under the hold; others simply feel their breathing slow and their body settle. Both are normal.
Sessions typically run 45 to 60 minutes.
No. You simply lie still and let the holds do their work — there's nothing required of you beyond getting comfortable.
Sensations vary. Some people notice warmth, a pulse, or a sense of release under a hold; others feel mostly a general settling of breath and body. Both are common, and neither is more "correct" than the other.
Yes — because there's no manipulation of tissue and the touch is extremely light, it's often well suited to clients who can't tolerate more hands-on work.
Some people come for a single session of quiet reset; others find a short series helps with an ongoing stress or sleep pattern. We can talk through what makes sense for you at your first visit.
