Orthopedic Massage in
Salt Lake City
Clinical manual therapy for injury, chronic pain, and post-surgical recovery.
What orthopedic massage is
Orthopedic massage is a targeted, evidence-informed approach to the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and joint structures directly involved in an injury or chronic dysfunction. Unlike general relaxation massage, the work is based on assessment, addresses specific soft-tissue restrictions, and integrates manual techniques with stretching, mobilization, and self-care education.
Salt Lake City's active lifestyle — skiing, climbing, running the Wasatch, CrossFit, desk work — puts specific, repeatable loads on the body. Orthopedic massage is designed for exactly these loads.
Who this is for
— Recovering from an acute injury (strains, sprains, impact injuries)
— Managing chronic musculoskeletal pain (low back, neck, shoulders, hips)
— Rehab after orthopedic surgery (knee arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, spinal procedures)
— Athletes managing training load or returning from injury
— Desk-based professionals with postural pain and tension patterns
Conditions I commonly see
— Low back pain, SI joint dysfunction
— Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
— Rotator cuff strain and impingement
— Neck pain, tension headaches, TMJ dysfunction
— Sciatica and piriformis syndrome
— Plantar fasciitis
— IT band syndrome, runner's knee
— Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow
— Post-surgical scar tissue and mobility loss
— Chronic postural patterns from desk or driving work
What a session looks like
Every first session begins with intake and assessment — health history, current medications, surgical history, your specific goals, and a brief movement screen (squat, overhead reach, other condition-specific tests). Based on what I find, the hands-on work integrates deep tissue, myofascial release, cross-friction, joint mobilization, and client-assisted stretching. I close with home-care cues — specific stretches, posture adjustments, or load modifications so the gains hold between sessions.
Most clients feel noticeable change after the first session. Measurable structural and functional gains usually take 4–6 weekly sessions, after which we move to a maintenance rhythm (typically monthly).
Pricing
Sessions from $125 / 60 minutes. 90-minute sessions available for more complex cases.
