Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage MLD in
Salt Lake City
Gentle, specific work to reduce post-surgical swelling, support healing, and get you through recovery.
What post-op MLD does
After surgery — whether plastic, orthopedic, or oncologic — the lymphatic system is disrupted. Swelling accumulates, circulation slows, and the body's natural healing cascade can stall. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a light, rhythmic, very specific technique that supports the lymphatic system's movement of fluid, reduces swelling (edema and lymphedema), softens scar tissue, and shortens recovery timelines.
It is not a deep tissue massage. If someone offers you a "deep lymphatic drainage," they are offering something different from MLD. True MLD uses pressures most clients describe as "almost too light." That gentleness is the point — the lymphatic system lives just under the skin.
Common surgeries I support
— BBL (Brazilian butt lift), liposuction, tummy tuck
— Breast surgery: augmentation, reduction, mastectomy, lumpectomy, reconstruction
— Orthopedic surgery: knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, shoulder surgery
— Cosmetic facial procedures
— Abdominal and pelvic surgeries
— Lymph node dissection or removal
Timing — when to start, how often
— Most plastic surgery protocols call for MLD starting within 3–5 days post-op. Some surgeons ask for earlier, some later — I follow your surgeon's guidance.
— Typical frequency: daily or every other day in the first 1–2 weeks, tapering to 1–2 times per week as swelling resolves.
— If you're arriving in Week 3 or 4 and haven't started yet, it's not too late. We adapt the plan.
— Post-mastectomy and post-lymph-node surgery timing is determined with your surgical and oncology team.
What a session looks like
We start with a short intake on the specific surgery, your surgeon's instructions, any drains or compression garments, and how you're moving today. The hands-on work is light, rhythmic, and specific — always proximal to distal, directing fluid toward functioning lymph drainage pathways. Most sessions are 60 minutes; some early post-op sessions run shorter if you fatigue easily.
I'll also cover self-care: which compression to wear when, how to do basic self-MLD between sessions, and positioning for sleep.
Pricing
Sessions from $125 / 60 minutes. Post-op MLD packages (multiple sessions) are available — ask about this at intake.
